Dog days

I've been hearing how August brings its own form of seasonal affective disorder, and brother let me tell you, I been feeling it. I have a ton of new used LPs to share but no energy to engage them. So I think I'm going to skip the show on Friday, August 24th. There's just one more week after that of the summer and then school starts again, so things will be more back to normal soon enough.

Come back on August 31st and we'll talk, okay?

Adventures in the Crates

This is why digging in the dusty crates is totally worth it:

A copy of "Maximum Stimulation" by The Jimmy Castor Bunch (1977) decorated with fan art.

Here is a copy of the unadorned LP jacket, courtesy of Discogs.com

Where did it come from? Who did that? And when? The mind reels. Also, they knew what they were talking about: the album is boss, and I'm usually skeptical of anything released after 1976, when disco really started going strong in the mainstream.

Really groovy gospel-infected album. Surprisingly light on the Jesus, just full of tasty songs that make you feel like church but still respect your beliefs.
