The legendary crate digger favorite Galt MacDermot died recently, one day before his 90th birthday, leaving behind a rich and varied career of dozens of movie soundtracks (including Hair, which made his fortune). Funk lovers know him for his work with Bernard Purdie and Idris Muhammad. He will be missed.

Holiday Hiatus
Music on the One will be off the air for a few weeks during the holidays, probably until January 19th, since I'll be travelling and the building will be closed anyways. Always find cool records when I'm away, so I'm sure to have cool new stuff for you.
